“Wildlife” and Veganism

Painting of a now extinct Thalycine / Tasmanian Tiger. The thylacine is the only mammal to have (possibly) become extinct in Tasmania since European settlement.

You can watch this Vegan Trove Podcast Ep 69 in the video below. It is from my vlog YT channel Faint Signals from Vega I discuss the issue of “wildlife” in relation to veganism and I meander my way (as I tend to do) through various issues from smoking, to Russia to Vermont and make connections with them all 😉 Enjoy

What’s Wrong with “Environmental Veganism”?

Here is the video from which the podcast episode is taken.

I touch on many issues in this hour long video. Some of the issues are a discussion on what veganism is, and what it is not; What are the problems with the notion of “humane” animal farming; and the environmental impacts of animal farming. My theme overall is looking at the problems associated with promoting “environmental veganism”, and if this humancentric focus just reinforces our speciesism.

As Promised, Blissful Breathing Meditation

As promised a few months ago, another guided meditation which not only may assist us in our daily lives, our interactions with others, but also most certainly may assist us in our education efforts.
I take you through a guided meditation originally given by Thich Nhat Hanh in 2013.  Here is my guided meditation without the short introductory preface

Thich Nhat Hanh is a Vietnamese monk who was nominated for a Nobel Peace prize in the sixties by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Enjoy 🙂
